Managed IT Services With No Long-Term Contract, Backed by a 90-Day Exit Clause
ACT360 provides managed IT services for Ontario businesses without long-term lock-in. Every Managed IT agreement includes a 90-day exit clause, so if we aren’t delivering in the first 90 days, you can leave without a penalty.
Most IT contracts are written to keep you. Ours is written so you can judge the work first. It’s part of how we run managed IT services for growing businesses across Central and Southern Ontario.
What Does Managed IT With No Long-Term Contract Actually Mean?
It means your provider doesn’t rely on a multi-year term or a large exit fee to keep you. You can leave if the service isn’t working, and the provider has to earn the relationship through results instead of paperwork.
A lot of managed IT agreements in Ontario still run 1 to 3 years, with auto-renewal and an exit fee tied to the remaining term. That isn’t always sinister. Providers have real onboarding costs to recover. But when the contract is doing the work of keeping a client, the client usually notices the service slipping long before the term ends.
We built our Managed IT agreement the other way around. Adam Bowles, ACT360’s CEO, puts it plainly. Vendors need contracts to keep clients. Partners keep clients by delivering results. The 90-day exit clause is how we hold ourselves to that.
If you’re comparing agreements now, our guide to flexible-contract vs. locked-in MSPs lays out how the 2 models differ, and 5 red flags your IT contract has you locked in shows the clauses to check first.
What Makes an ACT360 Managed IT Agreement Different
Four things you’ll see in the agreement and in the first 90 days, not just in the sales conversation.
90-Day Exit Clause
If it isn’t working in the first 90 days, you can end the Managed IT agreement without a penalty.
Transparent Tools and Access
You can see the tools we use and the access we hold. Nothing about your environment is a black box.
Phased Onboarding
Discovery first, then critical systems move in stages and get validated. No cutover weekend.
A Named Contact
Adam or Jeffrey Bowles, not a rotating ticket queue, from the first call onward.
A Typical Locked-In MSP Contract vs. ACT360 Managed IT
Here’s how the parts of an agreement that decide whether you can leave usually compare.
Contract terms vary, so read your own agreement rather than assuming. The Canadian Centre for Cyber Security’s guidance for consumers of managed services recommends settling data portability and ownership before you sign, which is good advice with any provider, including us.
How Does ACT360’s 90-Day Exit Clause Work?
If ACT360’s Managed IT isn’t working for your business in the first 90 days of the agreement, you can end it without a penalty. It applies to Managed IT agreements, not to web, app or AI projects.
Why 90 days? Because that’s roughly how long a properly run onboarding takes. Our 90-day onboarding breakdown walks through it. Discovery and documentation come first, critical systems move in phases, and the period closes with your first business review. By day 90 you’ve seen the work, not just the proposal.
There are a couple of things the clause doesn’t change. Microsoft licences follow Microsoft’s own rules. Under the New Commerce Experience cancellation policy, most subscriptions can only be cancelled for a prorated refund within 7 days of purchase. And project work is quoted separately. We’d rather tell you that now than have you find it in the fine print.
For the full detail, read how ACT360’s 90-day exit clause works.
What Does Managed IT Cost Without a Long-Term Contract?
ACT360’s Managed IT runs about $80 to $150 CAD per user per month for full service with site visits, or $75 to $120 for remote-only support. Microsoft licensing is billed separately, and the exit clause doesn’t change the rate.
Some providers charge more for month-to-month terms and less for a 3-year commitment. That trade-off can make sense if the provider is financing hardware for you. Just know what the discount is buying them.
- A full-time IT manager in Ontario costs about $80,000 to $120,000 CAD a year before benefits.
- A 30-seat business working with ACT360 typically spends about $41,000 CAD a year for a full team.
- Projects, hardware and licences are quoted separately, so the monthly fee stays easy to read.
See our pricing page for how fees are structured, or our guide to what it costs to switch IT providers if you’re weighing an exit fee against staying put.
Our Approach
A.C.T.I.O.N.
The exit clause only works because of the way we onboard. ACTION is the sequence we follow, and it’s why we’re comfortable letting you judge us at day 90.
Assess
A real look at your systems, your team and the gaps that have become normal, not a headcount-and-device quote.
Comprehend
Why things are set up the way they are, and where the business is headed over the next 2 to 5 years.
Tailor
Specific recommendations with reasoning and cost, plus what we’re not recommending yet and why.
Implement
Phased, not big-bang. This is where the 90-day clause earns its weight, because you can see the transition working before you’re committed.
Optimize
Quarterly business reviews on outcomes, not ticket counts, with recommendations you didn’t have to ask for.
Nurture
We get to know your team, not just the owner, so every call starts with context.
How ACT360 Takes the Risk Out of Switching
Financial
90-day exit clause on Managed IT. Transparent pricing. A rate below what most businesses pay for a single in-house hire.
Switching
Phased onboarding with no big-bang cutover. Discovery happens before anything is touched.
Political
The assessment gives you a written summary to take to the owner or board before any proposal.
Operational
A named contact, so you always know who to call and they already know your setup.
Ownership
You own everything we build, with handoff and training so your team isn’t dependent on us for routine changes.

What Businesses Ask Before Signing a Managed IT Agreement
There’s no penalty for ending an ACT360 Managed IT agreement within the first 90 days if the service isn’t working for your business. The clause is there because we’d rather earn the relationship than hold you to one.
Not with ACT360, because our published rate doesn’t change whether or not you ever use the exit clause. The range is $80 to $150 CAD per user per month for full-service Managed IT, or $75 to $120 for remote-only support. Microsoft licensing is billed separately, and you’ll get an exact figure after the assessment rather than a ballpark on the first call.
No, it applies to Managed IT agreements only. Web design, custom applications and AI automation are scoped and quoted as projects, so they’re agreed on their own terms.
Microsoft licences follow Microsoft’s own commitment rules, not ours. Under Microsoft’s New Commerce Experience, most subscriptions can only be cancelled for a prorated refund within 7 days of purchase, so licence dates are something we walk through with you before anything is bought. It’s one of the reasons we bill licensing separately and keep it visible.
By then, onboarding should be finished and you should be able to judge the results yourself. Critical systems should be moved and validated, your named contact should know your setup, and your first business review should have happened. If any of that hasn’t landed, you’ll know, and so will we.
